PDTG Networking at the HFES Annual Meeting

Updated: Sep 2, 2018

Tuesday, October 23rd (7:00 - 9:00 pm)

Following the PDTG Business Meeting, the Product Design Technical Group and the Healthcare Technical Group will again be co-hosting a networking event at the HFES Annual Meeting. As a member of one or both of these groups, you are cordially invited to attend. Prospective members of either group are also welcome to attend so encourage your friends and colleagues who are seriously considering a TG membership to come with you.

The purpose is to reconnect with old friends and to meet new ones. You can see last year's attendees enjoying the event in the photos below. Evidence of the networking's value comes from two outcomes told to me after the event. They are unrelated to each other.

I returned from HFES 2011 with a new job opportunity, a direct result of networking at the Product Design & Health Care TG's Networking Event!

The networking event was an opportunity to socialize with some old friends and colleagues and make a few new ones as well. I distinctly remember being impressed with meeting a PhD candidate who I subsequently reconnected with many months after the event. The result: she is now an employee of my company.

The location for the event is at Lucky's Lounge, 355 Congress Street at the corner of A Street. That's just a 10 minute walk from our conference hotel. Plentiful food and a drink will be provided courtesy of the generous sponsors who are supporting our networking event. In addition to the two TGs, sponsors who have already seen the value of a rich networking opportunity are Design Concepts, Continuum, UserWorks, Design Science, Usability Associates, Ximedica, National Center for Human Factors Engineering in Healthcare, Core Human Factors, User Centric, and Jay Pollack Consulting.
