This annual joint networking event brings together members of the Product Design Technical Group and Health Care Technical Group – two complementary areas of practice that can benefit from getting to know each other better. The events are held at restaurants a short walk from the conference hotel.

The first joint networking event was held in San Francisco during the 2010 HFES Annual Meeting. A total of 118 attendees crowded into an off site restaurant’s small patio room intended for an expected crowd of 60 people. The TGs and 7 sponsors funded complimentary drinks and appetizers.

Fast forward to the 2014 event at McCormick & Schmick’s in Chicago. The generosity of 17 sponsors, including 4 Principal level sponsors, enabled complimentary drinks, plentiful food, and door prizes for 177 attendees.

 

HFES and the TGs conspicuously recognize the sponsors with many sponsorship benefits. These include listings on the Society website, prominent conference signage, callouts at business meetings, screenshots at program sessions, and more.
